This large language family extends from Southeast Asia out across Oceania. Many Austronesian languages have a fairly small inventory of sounds and rarely have consonant clusters. One branch of this group forms the Polynesian languages. Other Austronesian languages are Bahasa Indonesia, Chamorro, Javanese, and Malagasy.
